2025 Term 4 Week 4 Newsletter
Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
It’s been another busy and exciting fortnight at AAS as we continue to celebrate learning, community, and achievement across our school.
This week we welcomed representatives from the Australian Defence Force (ADF), who presented to our Senior Years students about the wide range of career opportunities available within the ADF. Students were highly engaged and appreciated the insights into pathways, training, and lifestyle options connected to service careers.
Our Halloween dress-up day and disco brought plenty of colour and laughter to the school! A big thank you to the SRC for organising a special lunch as part of the celebrations, and to all students and staff who embraced the spirit of fun and creativity.
Today, we also recognise World Teachers’ Day, celebrating the incredible dedication of our staff who make a difference in the lives of our students every day. A special mention goes to Ms Amanda and Ms Alli, who have both been named finalists in the NT Educator Awards—a wonderful achievement and recognition of their passion and excellence in education.
There continues to be great learning happening in classrooms, and as we move toward the end of term, a reminder to families that end-of-semester reports will now be provided electronically. Please ensure your preferred email address is up to date so you can receive your child’s report via email when they are released on Monday 8th December.
We have also received notification that our school photos are in the post—we’ll update families once they arrive on Groote Eylandt.
Finally, we invite all families to join us for our Remembrance Day Ceremony on Monday, 11 November at 10:45am in the library, as we come together to honour and remember those who have served.
Have a wonderful weekend.
