Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Can you believe that the 2023 school is done and dusted?! It felt like we blinked and the year was over! The last fortnight has been jam packed with celebration and festivities, we certainly did finish the year on a high note!
Our school concert dazzled us with talented, upbeat and humourous performances, showcasing the artistic flare and choreographic skills of Alyangula Area School. We celebrated our preschoolers who will be moving into Transition next year with a heartwarming Preschool graduation, celebration the growth and milestones of our little ones who have taken their first steps on their educational journey. Our Step-up day and orientation sessions allowed students to get a glimpse of what the next academic year holds for them, we had AirNorth Santa visit us with a gift and fruit for all students, and the class parties were a perfect way to wrap up the year with laughter, camaraderie, and shared memories!
Today, we bid farewell to some beloved members of our Alyangula family. Ms. Rachel, Mr. Aftab, Ms. Anusha, Mr. Simon, and Ms. Eilis have played invaluable roles in shaping the lives of our students. Their dedication and passion have left an indelible mark on our school, and while they will be dearly missed, we wish them every success in their future endeavors.
To the families and students who are embarking on new adventures beyond Alyangula, we extend our heartfelt goodbyes. Your presence has enriched our school community, and we wish you all the best in your next chapters! Remember, once a part of Alyangula Area School, always a part of our family!
As we approach the holiday season, I would like to remind you that the 2024 class lists will be posted on the admin window from January 25th. Our admin office will be closed over the break and will reopen on the same day for any fees, uniform, or school-related business.
On behalf of the entire Alyangula Area School community, I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a safe, joyful New Year. May the holiday season bring you warmth, love, and the opportunity to create beautiful memories with your loved ones.
As we bid farewell to 2023, let us reflect on the achievements, challenges, and growth we have experienced together. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family. I look forward to welcoming you all back in 2024 for another year of learning, discovery, and success.
Warm regards,
Mel Dougherty
Congratulations!
Congratulations to all our readers on the completion of an exciting Chief Minister's Reading Challenge this year.
Every student from transition to year 6 in the Northern Territory (NT) is challenged to read 12 books in 24 weeks. Eligible books include printed books, digital books and audiobooks. For younger children, a book that is read aloud by an adult counts towards their total.
