Principal's Message
Hi Families,
And just like that Term 3 comes to a close! It’s been a term full of fun and excitement, with countless engaging learning opportunities for our students! From hands-on projects in the classroom to unforgettable events like the Colour fun Run and Arts and Culture Festival, it's been wonderful to see students actively participating, growing, and enjoying their learning experiences. We are so proud of their achievements this term and can't wait to see what Term 4 brings!
Last week, we held our annual school photos, and the students looked fantastic! A friendly reminder to families that orders close by the end of business today. A huge thank you to Eilis from Arnhem Shore Photography for capturing these precious memories.
What an incredible Arts and Culture Festival we had last Thursday! The effort put in by our staff and students was simply amazing, from the wonderful performances to the delicious food generously prepared by our families. It was a huge success, collectively raising over $4,500! A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed, the epitome of our school community coming together to create such a special event.
This week, we celebrated a major achievement as our VET students successfully completed their Certificate II in Cookery! They passed their final assessment by preparing, cooking, and serving a delicious two-course buffet lunch to staff. This is a shining example of the importance of vocational education and how industry-focused training can open doors to future careers in trades and hospitality. Well done to all involved!
We are so proud to share that both Ms. Lee and Ms. Malan have been shortlisted as Finalists in the Teach in the Territory Excellence Awards! This recognition is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the positive impact they have on our students and community. We wish them all the best as they continue to inspire excellence in education!
A big thank you to our outgoing School Council Chairperson, Elise Reid, for her dedication and commitment to the role. Elise has submitted her resignation, and we are deeply grateful for her service to our school. School Council is now seeking to recruit both a Chairperson and Secretary. Please see the attached flyer for details on the responsibilities of each role. If interested, please reach out to alyangula.admin@education.nt.gov.au.
A reminder that Monday, 7th October is a Curriculum Day, so there will be no school for students on this day. We’ll be kicking off Term 4 with our Swimming Carnival at the town pool on Friday, 11th October. Permission forms have been sent home; please sign and return them at your earliest convenience.
Thank you all for your continued support throughout the term. Have a restful and enjoyable break, and we look forward to seeing you in Term 4!
Best regards,
Mel Dougherty
