Thank you to all families who attended our Student Led Conferences last week. These conferences are such a valuable opportunity for students to showcase their work, reflect on their progress, and share their learning journey with you.
Last week also saw our school respond to a lockdown. I am incredibly proud of our whole school community — students remained calm, staff knew their roles, and the process ran smoothly and successfully.
On Friday, we wrapped up the week with our Colour Fun Run — an awesome time was had by all! This event is one of our major fundraisers for the year, with all funds going towards supporting and resourcing our STEM program. So far, we have raised an impressive $5,000 towards our $8,000 goal. Fundraising remains open until next Friday 15th August, so there’s still plenty of time to get involved and support the school. A huge thank you to Bush Fit and the NT Police for helping make the day such a success.
Next week, we will be celebrating Bully No Way! Day and Science Week. Both events are important opportunities to promote respect, kindness, and curiosity in learning. Throughout the week, students will take part in a range of activities to explore these themes.
Looking ahead to Week 6, we will be celebrating Book Week. The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure! Book Week is a wonderful way to highlight the importance of reading, imagination, and storytelling. We will be hosting our Annual Book Fair in the MPR all week, as well as our Book Week Parade on Friday 22 August in lieu of our regular assembly. Students are encouraged to come dressed in an outfit inspired by the Book Week theme or a favourite book character.
This week is Picnic Day at the ARC. The school will be running our ice cream and drink stall, and we are still seeking volunteers to help with a couple of time slots — please complete the attached form: https://shorturl.at/X8gK4
Next week is Clean Up Groote Eylandt Day at Six Mile — a fantastic opportunity for our students to take pride in caring for our local environment by removing debris and rubbish from our beautiful coastline.
Finally, our Father’s Day Raffle has launched today, with an amazing smoker up for grabs! Please see the attached flyer for details on how to purchase tickets.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our school.
Have a wonderful weekend.
